Called MAC and Blackstone the other day. Its time to move to apt search forward. The meeting with Eric @ MAC is going to be Feb 14th. Maybe we will see something we like. Hopefully.

The College Condo
Though quite late, here are the pictures from the first apt./condo that we viewed.
The view from the outdoors. We really liked the idea of the gate, for added security and all, and especially because we could, potentially, buzz someone in from inside the apt.
The kitchen. The appliances and counter-tops were really nice, but I thought that it was a little small.
The bathroom. It was nice. The tiles were pretty. But the fact that there was only one was a definite no-no. No way can we fit ALL of our stuff in there. Also, you can see the man who showed us the apt. He was very nice.
The living room. It had a LOT of light, which surprised us because it was in a courtyard and we also really liked the bay window. If only this place was bigger.
Laundry room in the basement with extra storage and a bike rack. Very handy.
-------
Also. Dinner at MK was divine. How am I supposed to be content with dining hall food after my delish peppercorn encrusted tuna with garlic mashed potato, spinach and a cranberry reduction? OMG. YUM.

Dinner plans during Chicago's restaurant week
Cashew and Leek are in the danger zone. Better include me in their "reservation for [fucking] four" or it's gonna be Apt. Alone 2 : Two girls on their own, plus Bruschetta's vengeance. I'm announcing it: official drams.

The First Day of the Rest of Our Lives
So. Today we viewed our first apartment, or apt., as it will be referred to now. It was an enlightening experience. And it made me feel old. Totally.
But first. Our Mission: We are not only writing this blog because we want to keep track of all of the apartments we view in the Hyde Park area, but also to get through this process unscathed. Or really, start our adult, independent and alone lives unscathed. We are also sharing our experiences with whoever else might want to gain some insight about the apt searching process, especially through the eyes of college students. But, in our apt, we want closets, a porch, light, a nice kitchen, and for utilities to be included. Sweeet.
ALSO. Important Info for College Students. While during the week, like a Wednesday night, you might think that setting up an apt viewing on Sunday morning at 11 sounds like a great idea because you have class at 9:30 the next day, when it actually comes to the weekend - you will not want to wake up. Just fyi.
Our first viewing was a 2 bedroom apt in a WONDERFUL location, near to the supermarket and the train and the buses and fooooood. =] Unfortunately, it was too small for the three of us. But it had a lot of light and it was a great experience.
There will be pictures to come. =]
